Oh Wierdo Me.

Both Kat and Princess Leia have randomly NaBloPoMo tagged me for the 7 weird / random things meme. Last November, I did this same meme with the help of my goofy and brilliant friend Mindy and I doubt I could top the weirdo list we came up with. In desperation I tried to get my friends to tell me how weird I am, but being the sweethearts that they are, they said, “there’s nothing weird about you Jennifer.” Ah non-bloggers, they just don’t understand.

I did get one thought-provoking response, however. Cindy emailed me this, “Some may think it weird BUT I have seen behind those bangs on your forehead is a beautiful, confident woman that doesn’t want anyone else to see that.” Gulp. Yep, the number one weirdo thing about me: I am often hiding who I am.

Interesting how this fits with my theme of honesty, eh? Well, keep reading. There’s more than just beauty and confidence in Jennifer’s closet…

  • 2. I was a big x-files fan in the 90s. Even today I find it comforting to watch x-files reruns (especially on a Sunday afternoons while I’m knitting).
  • 3. Since the Sci Fi drawer is open… When I was a kid I read x-men comics (Noah, I still remember when you told me that you hoped someday I would find someone that I didn’t feel I had to hide the x-men from. I guess that someone is the blogosphere : )
  • 4. I have a very faint scar under my nose that I got diving for shells as a kid. I saw a shiny shell and dived too fast in the rocky, shallow, water. I also have scars on my knees from biking and ice skating wipeouts and a scar on my left ring finger when a livid German Shepard bit me.
  • 5. I have cellulite.
  • 6. I am a soupaholic.
  • 7. And this story from my friend Nancy:

    Weird + random + Jennifer = one heckuva wonderful waitmare (nightmares about waiting tables, common in the service industry). She once dreamed the usual scenario; a crazy busy night with a million customers, and added her own unusual twist: her cat was also taking tables. The cat, Miss P, was too much in the weeds to take a 12-top, so Jen gathered her wits and said she’d take it for her. And all was well.
